This is Amit Gharpure and I have been with IWCA for about 4 months now. I would like to recount the start of my exciting journey in Wing Chun. I have always been driven by fitness, but till a few months ago, it was restricted to the gym. I did develop good lifting strength, but always felt that it would be of limited use in self defense situations. This is when IWCA opened their Wing Chun classes at PYC (where I am a member) every weekend. I joined from the first session. At first, Wing Chun seemed a bit counter-intuitive, but as the sessions progressed, this martial art started to unravel it's beauty and simplicity and started to manifest as the potent form of kung fu that it is.
The credit for great teaching goes to the wonderful IWCA instructors who ensure they not just guide us in correcting our physical form, but also explain the underlying logic and philosophy behind everything, which is invaluable. I think anybody with even the slightest interest in learning self defense or even some self confidence boosting should definitely enroll with IWCA.
You can attend a demo class any time to see how this effective martial art works.
"My name is Debajit Kumar. Before joining IWCA, I had learned Shaolin Kung Fu for 2 years but that was15 years ago. For me Kung-Fu is more of an art form, and not just a self defense.
I was looking for Kung-Fu classes in Andheri for 2 years. Then fortunately I come across IWCA, Andheri. IWCA has the best and most organized curriculum and training equipments for Wing-Chun Kung Fu. After joining IWCA, I realized the beauty, depth, benefits and philosophy of Wing Chun Kung-Fu. I feel IWCA is has the best qualified instructors who encourage students to discover their own potential. They pay personal attention to each student and focus on the detailing while training.
Another aspect of the Wing Chun training is Qi Gong. It’s a set of powerful meditative exercises and techniques to improve calm focus. Personally, my concentration and memory dramatically improved after practicing Wing Chun Kung Fu.
I think the benefits one can have from IWCA, cannot be explained but to be experienced by students themselves. Anybody with good basic fitness can learn this form of martial art regardless of age, body type and height can learn this form of martial art. I would recommend a visit to IWCA for demo sessions to know the benefits of Wing-Chun. I feel lucky to be part of IWCA"
I am Ms. Khyati Gada, a Counseling psychologist and a mother of two lovely daughters. I have been a student of IWCA for just over a year.
Initially, I went to enquire for my daughter but she was not of the eligible age. When I saw the demo session I decided to enroll myself. At the back of my mind I always wanted to learn self-defense.
The journey was tough. Being a mother and a wife, there was resistance at home in the beginning. Also, to learn a martial art, I had to challenge my own abilities and push myself from time to time. My mentors patiently worked with me and kept encouraging me at every step forward. I completed the level 1 after 9 months of training and moved to 2nd level. This was incredible achievement for me and has boosted my confidence in my own ability.
IWCA has developed my confidence level since I know I can handle myself physically and mentally. I became more aware and alert of my surroundings, which helps me to be safe.
The curriculum of IWCA is designed for a common person to grasp and learn. The important part of a martial art is how to use it in real life. My favorite part in the class is the real life scenarios drill. It puts the skills you learned to test. It teaches you how to use the skills to defend yourself and attack at the same time in a simulated threatening situation.
At IWCA, you learn respect, discipline, and to be humble as it is an integral part of learning a martial art. As for my personal experience, I would recommend everyone, especially girls to join IWCA. I’m sure that they will discover their own power and feel confident to face the world. Next year, my daughter will be eligible for training and I plan to enroll her in IWCA. In the end would like to conclude by saying that I have made IWCA teachings "A Way of Life."
Celebrity Pvt Training: Training with India Wing Chun Academy has been a special experience because I found teachers who trained me not just physically, but also mentally and ones who believed in me so completely. Wing Chun is a philosophy – the One that has very positively impacted my life. Not only do I feel more confident stepping into the streets from a self preservation point if view, but I feel mentally more equipped to handle life better as well. I highly recommend this school. The teachers truly invest in you and you are so much better for it.
