I’m Abhijit Gune. My journey with Martial Arts began in my late 20’s. Back then I was learning Shaolin Kung Fu for 5 years, first in India and later in Sri Lanka. But after I was injured during a sparring session, I was advised by doctors to stop my training for a year or so. Later, growing work responsibilities and family commitments pushed back the plan to learn further.
After a big gap I again wanted to get back to martial arts. I found Sifu Shiv, the chief instructor of IWCA, to be a believer of fancy free, effective and practical applications of martial arts and also a teacher of authentic Wing Chun Kung Fu in Mumbai. And that’s when I enrolled myself in IWCA.
I’m learning Wing Chun Kung Fu from him for almost 3 years. After completing the first module, Sifu Shiv asked me if I wanted to become an instructor with IWCA. I was more than happy to accept it. As an instructor, I had to be sure of what I’m teaching and hence I had to practice myself a several times. To simplify the methods to teach complex techniques to student is a challenge at times. But the high point is to see a big surprise on a students face when he or she discovers the power within by applying the Wing Chun Principles and techniques. It’s a matter of great joy to see the transformation of a student from a skeptical, unsure person to a confident individual.
I feel there is no shortcut to learn a martial art. Patience, perseverance and turning failure into learning are key to one’s progress.

My motto: कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
4.5 years with Iwca. I had learned Shotokan Karate before IWCA. I always wanted to learn some form of martial arts since childhood. Movie IP man acted as a catalyst to ignite my passion. I started training people out of passion. It has helped me become a better practitioner and helped me overcome my flaws. Training others helps me with a different approach to the system which gives a better perspective and understanding of the system. I always wanted to give it back to the society and Iwca has helped me volunteer for NGOs
My motto is to become the best version of myself, become a good human being and help the society and weak with my martial skills.
My name is Nishant Mahajan. I am a Software Developer @ Microsoft and a Wing Chun Enthusiast and Trainer @ India Wing Chun Academy.
Action movies got me interested in Martial Arts from my early school days but IP Man movies is what actually motivated me to learn Wing Chun. I joined IWCA mumbai in 2016 and after few weeks into Wing Chun, I realized that it is much more than just a fighting technique, it applies to so many more areas of your life and it is an art of living. Wing Chun works not only on body but also Mind and Chi and can serve as a self defense art or it can be a dancing art at times. It teaches to choose the most efficient path in all aspects of your life.
I am determined to take this art to as many people as possible. I believe in practicing and experimenting with the art and hope to improve myself further as I share this knowledge. I believe Wing Chun is an intuitive sense that comes from a lot of practice.
A famous quote I admire: I practice martial arts not to win over other people but to win over my heart. -- Tony Jaa.
I love being associated with IWCA as an Instructor under the guidance of Sifu Shiv. As a teacher of Wing Chun, I believe that the universality of this Martial art helps me to reach out the people irrespective of their limitations. My aim is to strengthen and motivate people to have a better balanced and disciplined life. I'm very glad to be an IWCA instructor. It has been one of the best choices I have made. Years ago, by starting Wing Chun, I made the conscious decision to take responsibility of my own safety. I have learnt as a student that Wing Chun self defense is not only about physical protection but personally has also proven to be a form of mental self defense. For me learning Wing Chun is fun and eye opener. After 15 years Karate practice, I joined IWCA. The concept of Wing Chun is quite different from other Martial arts. If you have practiced any other martial arts, be prepared for a bit of a shock. Due to relaxing nature of Wing Chun moves no energy is wasted in stiffness or tensing of muscles. No fancy moves and the idea of learning to control your own strength before attempting to deal with that of others was completely new to me.. and my Wing Chun love story continues .... I'm grateful to IWCA team and Sifu Shiv.
Join me in the Tao of Wing Chun
hi, My name is Jigar Patel and I have been in IWCA for more than a year now. I learned some karate when i was 13 year old. I understand that Wingchun is very unique Martial arts than others since it uses structure rather than strength, and is very practical in real life scenario, that’s what motivated me to practice wingchun.
It is really good experience as an Instructor since I got all the training support from IWCA team. I learned many things, which deepened my skills and improved my techniques. Every day is a learning for me since I get learn better as I train other students.

I am Siddhesh Tare wing chun practitioner 3rd level (Chum kiu)since 2 & half year with Sifu Shiv And Nilesh Sir.
I had no martial art experience before joining Indian Wing Chun Academy.
I joined Wing Chun because it's soft skill ancient martial art & it's very popular because of its emhasis on technique over strength, size & uniqueness. And now am giving training as supporting instructor.Thanx to sifu for giving opportunity to train the people the life saver technique.
I had good experience so far with students. I personally give attention to an individual while teaching as sifu did to me to make them strong physically and mentally. My focuse is to teach them proper technique and to check whether they are doing correct or not.
My Intention is not making fighters or worrier but good human being who is independent to defend himself and others too by his skills. I learnt one thing from my sifu that if you want to achieve some thing ,then there is only one master key i.e. practice. So keep practicing.
If anyone who are passionate to learn wing chun can visit our site or attend demo session for Free.

Hi, I am Sachin Sawant. Gyming has been my passion since I am a gym instructor, till I was introduced to Wing Chun. Before IWCA I have done Shotokan Karate and American kickboxing. Being a well built person and having strong muscular body the idea of not relying completely on strength but on body structure and technique was completely alien to me. I was shocked during the demo session, that my strength could not save me from the Wing Chun techniques which seemed so effortless. Since then I have been practicing Wing Chun i.e. almost two and half year.
The Wing Chun techniques I learnt at IWCA are very practical for self defense not just for strong people like me but also for smaller body framed or weaker individuals. Created by a woman, it’s the best martial arts for women.
Wing Chun is my passion now and I will practice it throughout my life. You can join me and get benefitted by this unique martial art.
Hello, my name is Shrijit C Palkar. I have been learning Wing chun at IWCA more than a year.
I have learned Karate in past during my school time. From those days I was in search of authentic Kung fu training. Kung fu movies fascinated me towards martial art again and then my first demo at IWCA really motivated me to join the Wing Chun training.
As the saying goes if you teach anybody, you learn the thing twice. While sharing my knowledge with my co-practitioner I found myself correcting my techniques first and then sharing it with others. I am passionate to pass on martial art training to educated youth of our nation in order to develop qualities like Confidence, courage, unity, dignity, endurance and wisdom in them and to preserve this art as well.
My motto as IWCA instructor is "Strength.Truth.Endurance". If you are also passionate about self-defense and self-development, please do visit at mentioned IWCA branches to get your demo.
